If you have recently completed a CAMLPR-approved medical laboratory technology/science program your Flexible Pathways process will include the following steps:
- Create a Flexible Pathways applicant account.
- (Optional) Complete the Self-Administered Readiness Assessment for the fields of practice you intend to work in.
- Write the Fields-of-Practice exams you are eligible for.
- Complete the Professional Practice Orientation.
- Apply for registration with the provincial regulator.
You have twelve (12) months from your program completion date to complete all of your Fields-of-Practice exam attempts. Please refer to the CAMLPR Exam Policy for details.
CAMLPR strongly recommends that applicants who have recently completed a CAMLPR approved MLT program register for and attempt the first examination session for which they are eligible.
Applicants are permitted up to three examination attempts per field of practice and are expected to complete all attempts within 12 months of becoming exam eligible. If you are unable to complete your examination attempts within this timeframe, you may apply for an Exam Eligibility Extension. Extension requests are subject to review and approval by CAMLPR, must meet the eligibility criteria outlined in the policy, and are subject to an extension fee.
Please note: Completing the CAMLPR Flexible Pathways process and passing the required exams does not guarantee registration with a provincial regulatory body nor does it guarantee employment.
