Application and Exam Fees
This section outlines the fees for account creation, prior learning assessment, and exams under the Flexible Pathways to Registration for Medical Laboratory Technologists (MLTs) process.
- Account creation fee: Charged to all applicants.
- Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) fee: Charged to applicants with:
- International MLT Education
- Non-traditional education
- Canadian-educated applicants who completed a CAMLPR-approved medical laboratory technology/science program but did not attempt a first national MLT exam within 24 months of their program completion date.
- Exam fees: Charged to all applicants and based on fields of practice, exam duration, and the number of appointments.
Some exams are offered as part of a bundle, which are predefined sets of fields-of-practice exams offered at a discounted rate. Bundle pricing is available only when all exams in the bundle are written in the same appointment.
Applicants who choose to write exams in separate appointments will be charged the individual exam fee for each, resulting in higher overall costs. For example, an applicant eligible for the MLT Core Lab Bundle who writes Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, and Transfusion Medicine on different days will be charged three single-field exam fees.
