If you need to change the date or time of your exam, you have two options. Each has different rules and fees. Please note that if you make changes close to your exam date, you may forfeit your exam fee. This means your fee will not be refunded, you will need to pay the full exam fee again to book a new appointment, and you may also have to pay a deferral fee.
Option 1: Reschedule for same exam session: Change your appointment to a different day or time within the same 5-day exam session (for example, change exam from September 8 to September 12).
Changing your exam delivery method (for example, switching from in-person to remote, or remote to in-person) is also treated as a reschedule and follows the same deadlines and fees.
When you reschedule | Fee |
---|---|
30 or more days before exam | No fee |
5-29 days before exam date | $35 rescheduling fee |
0-4 days before exam | You forfeit your exam fee and must pay the fee again to write the exam |
Option 2: Cancel and defer to the next exam session: If you cancel your exam and do not reschedule within the same session, you must defer your exam. A deferral means postponing your exam to the next session (for example, from September 2025 to November 2025).
You must apply to CAMLPR at applicants@camlpr.org for permission to defer your session and may need to provide supporting documentation. You will be charged applicable fees.
When you cancel and defer | Fee |
---|---|
30 or more days before exam | $115 deferral fee |
5-29 days before exam | $35 cancellation fee + $115 deferral fee |
0-4 days before exam | You forfeit your exam fee and must pay the fee again to write the exam + $115 deferral fee |
Fees do not include taxes.
You will forfeit your exam fee if you:
- Do not appear for your scheduled exam.
- Arrive more than 30 minutes late for your scheduled exam.
- Are refused entry because of invalid identification (ID) or other issues.
- Violate exam rules.
Exam rule violations: If you are found to be in violation of exam rules, you may be denied the ability to continue the Flexible Pathways process.
Emergencies or exceptional situations: If you cannot write your scheduled exam because of medical emergencies or exceptional situations, contact CAMLPR immediately at executiveoffice@camlpr.org to discuss your situation. Each case will be reviewed individually by CAMLPR. Based on the timing of your request, you may forfeit your exam fee but still be eligible to defer to the next exam session without additional CAMLPR penalties.
Important notes
- Plan ahead. The earlier you make changes, the less it costs.
- Applicants must follow policies, procedures, and deadlines set by CAMLPR and Prometric.
- Exam fees are non-refundable. When you defer, your payment moves to the next session.
- You can only defer to the next available exam session.
- Late cancellations or deferrals (0-4 days before exam) mean you could pay full exam fees twice.
- All deadlines are based on Eastern Time (ET).
